Professor Reinhard Haus created the font and appeared with Linotype AG in 1986. This text font is based on the Venecian Old Face styles of the 15th century. The influence of characters originally written with a feather can be seen in many of the forms of this modern alphabet. Guardi is part of the Linotype Library. Guardi is a trademark of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, which may be registered in certain jurisdictions, exclusively licensed through Linotype GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
