Sobre la familia BlackCat Blackletter Fuente

Proudly Introducing BlackCat, an authentically Vintage Blackletter Font. Its design is based on a specimen from the 1800s that oozed that classic Blackletter style that is (I’m glad to see) making a glorious comeback!

    Quick Overview

    • Multilingual Glyph Set (Latin 1)

    • Great for Display (Fonts, Headlines, Apparel – Big text stuff)

This project was a true joy to work on. As some of you may know, the other half of my design business is one I run alongside my wife (Abbie), which includes collecting, restoring, and repurposing vintage illustrations.

After acquiring some wonderful vintage typography specimens, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make them into working typefaces.

While the original prints contained very few glyphs and required plenty of custom work, I’ve tried to stay as true to the design as possible while creating the additional letters, numbers, and symbols.

    Acerca de Tom Chalky

Obsessed with handwritten, handpainted, and imperfect. Almost every design can benefit from a human’s touch or, at the very least, the appearance of one. It is relatable, tactile, and authentic. It stands out in our clean and crisp digital world, and it is this charismatic and expressionate style of design that I strive for in each and every one of my fonts.
