Script Fonts With Flourish
|
If
you like complex, elegant, yet easy-to-read scripts that include
decorated initials and flourishes, then these fonts are for you!
Royal
Classic
Royal Classic is based on a design that was initially commissioned by
King Ludwig I of Bavaria. The font designer bought a set of the
guidelines the King’s chief scribe used for writing, and he found
Royal Classic in the set. The typeface has elegant decorated initials
and a narrow classic script style. It looks good set at large sizes.
The designer recommends that you don’t use too many decorated initials!

Sloop
offers the adventurous designer a wide choice of forms in three weights
of a classically elegant script. The typographer suggests setting
lowercase text in Sloop One or Two, and capitals in One or Three.
This month’s MyFonts banner uses Sloop. |

Sterling Script
Sterling Script is the ultimate elegant font choice for luxury design: very elegant, but not too soft. Its strong and confident shapes convey a message that is real, comforting and assuring.
There
are multiple variations for the majority of the basic characters,
which makes Sterling Script work well for wedding, postcard, and
invitation designs. With such an extensive character set, you can
easily set a word or a sentence in 10 or more different ways, and
choose the perfect one for the task at hand. This is particularly
useful for work where details are of utmost importance, like logos,
slogans, or elegant engravings that consist of one to three words.
Let those swashes and twirls intertwine for maximum elegance!
|
|
|
The complete
package consists of 7 fonts: Sterling Script, Alternates, Beginnings,
Endings, Swashes, Swash Alternates, and Ligatures. Once you use Sterling
Script, you will never want to go back to other copperplates!
LTC Artscript
LTC Artscript is the original designer’s “attempt to convert into rigid metal the graceful penmanship of the ancient scribe.” Extensive alternates have been added, based on original drawings and additional sources. There are base and alternate fonts, but both versions are combined into the OpenType version, which includes an expanded Central European character set as well as ligatures, swash alternates, fractions, and ornaments.
This font works well for invitations, cards, and posters.

prints, books, and samples. Typefaces are reproduced as they appeared

Mecheria
Mecheria
conjures up images of a far off place in another time. At first glance,
she’s delicately rounded and brimming with sensuous swashes.
Hints of the mysterious East beckon with feminine swirls. Beware.
A closer look reveals sharp angles hidden within her ample curves.
Enigmatic, exotic, slightly goth, Mecheria reveals only a tantalizing
glimpse of her potential. She’s a font whose appeal defies simple
description.
Mecheria invites you to explore a myriad of possibilities for your
next book title, invitation, label or event poster.
|
|
|
In OpenType format, Mecheria offers 94 custom ligatures for more
natural letter pairing. When using Adobe CS products, the ligatures magically appear, saving
you time to chase them down.
