Fust & Friends

Founded in late 2015, Fust & Friends is a Berlin-based association of typographic aficionados. Named after the man who once backed the invention of moveable type, Fust & Friends brings together people with various backgrounds: type designers, researchers, writers, editorial designers. One of our principal activities is to find lost fonts. Unfinished and unpublished digital faces that need a little help from the Friends, or brilliant designs from the past that beg to be used by today’s adventurous designers, and deserve a digital makeover. Fust & Friends are a mixed company — women and men in their 20s through 60s, coming from many places across the globe: USA, the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, Denmark, Italy and France. We’ll collaborate with other organizers to set up workshops, exhibitions, lectures, and more. We’re eager to welcome new members who like to get things done in type and typography — in bustling Berlin, and elsewhere in the type world.
