Salter is an exploration of 20th century book jacket calligraphy by Lucas Sharp. The typeface is a loving homage to various designs attributed to Oscar Ogg and George Salter, two masters of this period, and strives to bring out their respective genius into a standalone typeface. While Salter roman draws its construction methodology from the work of Ogg, the lowercase italic construction is based on a piece of lettering penned by Salter in 1941.
Doyle is a period piece, a loving synthesis of 2 iconic styles that became the visual backdrop of a generation. The darkest master is Lucas Sharp’s ode to Cooper Black drawn from memory, and on the light end of the spectrum the chubby organic forms suck it in and take on a style reminiscent of ITC American Typewriter.
Following the dual release of the Centra No. 1 and Centra No. 2 in 2017, Josh Finklea expanded the sans serif series with Centra Mono. The typeface is an amalgamation of its geometric sans relatives, constrained but not hindered by a fixed-width system.

Typeface designer
Léna Le Pommelet
Léna is a type designer, and her work is influenced by her affection towards calligraphy, stone carving, handmade letters and vernacular typefaces. She attended École Estienne in Paris for Type Design and then obtained her MA at Type and Media at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, Netherlands, in 2021. She collaborated with type foundries TyPetr and Coppers and Brasses prior to joining Sharp Type as a type designer in September 2023.

Justin Sloane
Justin is a designer, artist, and independent publisher working in West Los Angeles. He has collaborated with Wolff Olins, 2x4, Sharp Type, The Aperture Foundation, and many others. Justin has been part of exhibitions at MoMA PS1, The MoMA Library, Printed Matter, The Tokyo Institute of Photography, and The Museum of Arts and Design. He joined Sharp Type full-time in November of 2020.
Typeface designer
Calvin Kwok
Calvin is a typeface designer with a BA in Visual Communication from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading. After an enriching internship at Apple Inc.'s Type team, he officially joined Sharp Type in March 2019, where he currently serves as the Technical Director. He concentrates on multilingual type design, typography, and font technology, demonstrating a keen interest in the nuances of the field.
