Ethan Nakache
Ethan Nakache is a French Type Designer rooted in Paris. Ethan's journey into the world of typography was sparked by an early fascination with letterforms, ignited during his formative years of graffiti in the vibrant streets of Paris. Ethan found himself captivated by the art of shaping letters, exploring the intricate interplay of form and style. This fascination evolved as he delved into the timeless art of calligraphy, where he discovered the elegance and discipline inherent in handcrafted lettering. Following his academic pursuits, He graduated from La cambre in Typography in 2019. Ethan embarked on internships with Sebastien San Filipo and Black Foundry, where he immersed himself in the intricacies of type design, learning and growing with each experience. Transitioning into freelance work, Ethan's early releases, including Nuances and Homie with Blaze Type and Homie, marked the beginning of his independent practice. In 2022, he had the opportunity to contribute a custom typeface for the Ski resort "Les Arcs," a project that underscored his dedication to both craft and collaboration. Continuing to contribute his skills, Ethan has collaborated with various esteemed foundries such as Heavyweight Type, Fatype, Frere Jones, DJR, The Designer Foundry and Blast, each project adding depth to his understanding of the craft. With a commitment to continuous improvement and a deep respect for the tradition of type design, Ethan Nakache remains dedicated to his craft, quietly leaving his mark on the world of typography, one letter at a time.
