Brigitte Schuster is a graphic designer, specializing in typography and type design, as well as a writer and occasional teacher. She lives and works in Bern, Switzerland.
Schuster works as an independent graphic designer with a focus on editorial concepts (books, magazines, brochures, annual reports), concept development (corporate identity concepts, communication concepts), and type design (logo design, lettering, corporate typefaces).
In 2013, she founded the imprint “Brigitte Schuster Éditeur” to publish personal publications feature projects of projects that catch her imagination.. Brigitte Schuster Éditeur specializes in high quality books of often limited editions.
Before starting her career as a graphic designer, Schuster studied art and design in Italy, Portugal and Canada. It was at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (KABK) in the Netherland’s Royal Academy of Art, however, that she refined her craft of typeface design.
In her free-time, you can find Ms. Schuster exploring new, local coffeehouses; learning about different cultural backgrounds through conversations with people; touching, smelling and perusing books; or working on manuscripts with pen and ink, much like an ancient scribe.
