About CF Diadromon Font Family

CF Diadromon was designed in 2014-15 under assignment to streamline the road signage in Greece. It is a revival of the familiar letters that we read on the blue signs of provincial roads and local signage of Greece. Initially, the typeface was designed and adopted by the Hellenic Ministry of Public Works in 1974 having emerged from the adaptation of the British model designed by Jock Kinneir & Margaret Calvert in the 60's. The digital version CF Diadromon, free from errors and design inconsistencies of the original design, supports Greek Monotonic and full Western Latin character set, monospaced numbers, fractions, etc. In 2017 CF Diadromon (Dromon) was expanded to 16 styles. (Diadromón, Dia-Dromos, greek Διαδρομών, general plural form of Diadromos, meaning Routes, Ways, Trips)

About Fonts.GR

Fonts.GR, Greek Digital Type Library (originally Cannibal) was founded in 1995 with the aim to enrich and renew the Greek typography. The permanent members (Panos Haratzopoulos, Yannis Karlopoulos), their regular collaborators and many other graphic designers that they have cooperated at times, equally skilled in typography and with a significant contribution to graphic design and visual arts.During this time Fonts.GR has designed and published to the Greek and international market new font designs, original or Greek versions, which were accepted with enthusiasm since they covered the need for dynamic communication tools. Many of these fonts were coincided (in terms of communication) with major events (Olympic Games Athens 2004, Greek Presidency of the European Union) and supported the graphic communication of agencies, institutions, advertising companies, newspapers and other publications. Fonts.GR's “Stella Project” (2013-2018), a study in the forgotten art of calligraphy of the 50s, 60s and 70s, gained great publicity in Greece. It led to the production of original fonts widely used in Greek packaging and branding, an exhibition at the Benaki Museum, a documentary on ERT3 public television and a series of lectures and workshops in Greece and Cyprus.Fonts.GR has been providing consulting services related to the design of Greek characters to many Type Foundries and independent designers around the world.
