Daniel Robichaud

Through a professional journey encompassing broadcast design, character animation and filmmaking, Daniel Robichaud has never strayed from his long-time passion for typography. He learned to draw letterforms using traditional pen and ink techniques before embracing digital technology and establishing the DR Fonts foundry. His first decorative font, Epitaphe, was published by Letraset as part of their transfer sheets collection. Originally from Montreal, Daniel moved to Los Angeles to create visual effects and contributed to such movies as Apollo 13, The Fifth Element and Titanic. He developed an interest for animation and created his short film Tightrope, then directed the feature-length cartoon Pinocchio 3000. Daniel Robichaud's work for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Digital Domain and FOX have been rewarded with industry accolades.
