About Dietrich Deco Font Family

If you like vintage hand-painted signs and sho'cards then you will love Dietrich Deco. Inspired by theatre posters that advertised a 1930 Marlene Dietrich movie, Dietrich Deco has all the nuances of real brush lettering. It harks back to a time when lettering had artistic flair instead of so many of the sterile, predictable examples we see today. It is a bold font, yet the characters take up about as much space as medium weight fonts making it perfect for headings where overall length is a concern.

Sometimes we choose a font we feel is perfect for a project only to discover that it lacks an apostrophe or quote marks. You will be glad to know that even though Dietrich Deco was primarily intended for headings that appear on retro signs and posters, it also contains both upper and lowercase characters as well as all special characters, punctuation and symbols. Whether you need to create a 30s style logo or a 60s style surfing poster, Dietrich Deco will deliver the message.

About Red Rocket Signs

Foundry owner Rodney Vicik began his career as a sign painter back in 1980. Back then truck lettering, boat lettering and storefronts were all done by hand with brushes and paint. During those early years, Rodney began buying books on alphabets and lettering design. His extensive collection would eventually grow to include many rare lettering books dating back to the 1800s. It is this collection that continues to provide inspiration for the retro logos and type styles that have characterized his designs. The name Red Rocket Signs was chosen for his business because it conjured up images of a by-gone era where space travel was still a dream and hand lettering was a much sought after craft. Today Rodney divides his time between hand crafting signs, pinstriping guitars and motorcycles and designing vintage style display type for signs and graphics.
