About Geometric Slabserif 712 Font Family
Geometric Slabserif 712 resembles a simple Constructivist geometric sans, with the addition of strong square slab serifs. Twentieth-century design influence is evident in the more even weight of strokes compared to the original nineteenth-century Egyptians or Slab Serifs. Geometric Slabserif 712 is a prime example of this modern approach. Angular terminals add a distinctive sparkle to its sturdy design, making it stand out.
This typeface is exceptionally robust, excelling in various design applications. Its bold and sturdy nature makes it perfect for headlines and posters, where a strong visual impact is essential. Despite its solid and commanding appearance, Geometric Slabserif 712 maintains excellent legibility even in very short text blocks, making it versatile for both display and limited text usage. Whether used in advertising, editorial design, or digital interfaces, this typeface ensures clarity and readability without sacrificing style.
Geometric Slabserif 712 is the Bitstream version of Monotype Rockwell, originally designed in 1934. The Cyrillic version was developed at Paratype in 2000 by Isay Slutsker and Manvel Shmavonyan.
