Gerald Giampa is a master printer, who bought the
Lanston type company from Mackenzie and Harris of San Francisco, and manufactured matrices, type and other equipment to keep old monotype machines working.
The operation was devastated by a tidal wave in January 21, 2000, since which time the company concentrated on the digital side.
He sold Lanston to
P22 of Buffalo, NY in November 2004, and remains in place as a consultant.
