About Ghasedakan Font Family

Ghasedakan (قاصدکان, DandelionPuff) font family is the inaugural fantasy font designed around the proposed perso-arabic writing system. This pioneering endeavor aimed to evaluate the viability of the proposed writing system in a challenging context.

The font family comprises five disconnected font styles, differing from the traditional Arabic conjoint styles. The capital (Isolated ) letters are also modified to present a more harmonious aesthetic.

ghasedakan LP (Less Point) thin denotes the dot-reduced version, wherein glyphs containing two or more dots are substituted with new dotless shapes. It is important to note that, with the exception of the ghasedakan thin style, all other styles utilize the reduced dots alphabet.

The ghasedakan MC (Mixed Case) thin emulates Latin fonts, enabling typists to toggle between lowercase and uppercase letters through a software shift key. This software shift feature can be activated or deactivated by inputting two consecutive Alef_Hamza_above/Alef_Hamza_below letters. more…

The final two styles consist of the Small Caps (ghasedakan SC thin) and All Caps (ghasedakan AC thin) versions within this font family.

Please be advised that additional related styles are available within the ghasedak font family.

The Latin portion of this font family draws inspiration from the Home Square font, featuring new lowercase letterforms and numerous additional glyphs.

About Fakharia

Like language, scripting is a living thing and is subject to evolution. The more it adapts to its surrounding environment, the more chance it has to survive. Font designing is today's tool to fulfill this process.Latin script adapts well to today's digital world with over 72000 fonts. Unfortunately, the Peso-Arabic script Locks itself in the traditional box (calligraphy rules) and remains far behind with just over 500 fonts.I tried to unlock this box to make the Perso-Arabic script more compatible with today's digital world. To this extent, I developed a new writing system and designed a set of different typeface fonts for this system to let the Perso-Arabic script shine better.
