The Italian designer Giancarlo Barison created the display font in 1997. This handwriting font is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the 2nd International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Linotype Graphena is consciously irregular and erratic, the letters dance across a page, large and small, tilted and erect. The font could be described as angular, restless, even mischievous.
Linotype Graphena is part of the Take Type No. 2 CD which contains 230 fonts.
