Ján Filípek studied Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Bratislava. During his studies, he became interested in type design.
In 2006 he went on exchange to the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design Prague. It was here, at the Typography studio lead by
František Štorm, where he refined his most acclaimed work:
Deva Ideal.
He got his Master of Arts degree from the Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Bratislava in 2008. Currently he is taking the Type[Media MA course at the KABK in Den Haag, The Netherlands.
