Designer Karl Klauß (born 1888 in Maichingen, died 1956 in Stuttgart) was trained as a designer in a graphic arts institution in Stuttgart. In-house graphic artist and artistic director of Verlagsanstalt Tyrolia from 1915 to 1916 and from 1919 to 1925. He designed four typefaces, which were initially published with the Genzsch & Heyse type foundry: Adagio, Arkona, Horizontale and Klauß Kursiv.
