About Latin Initials Font Family

Here is my classic style red and blue Latin Initials font family inspired by XIV century publications gradual. The strange symbolic grotesque figures of the XII century gave way to naturalistic depictions of flowers.

A manuscript from the first half of the XIV century is an excellent example of an illuminated gradual, one of the main liturgical books of the Roman Catholic Church. It intended for the choir and containing the texts and notes of the hymns of the Mass.

Graduals, as a rule, were executed in the form of very large format codes, written in large letters. The most important sections were highlighted with large ornamental initials I used for the inspiration. The decoration of the codex consists of two-color filigree initials.

On the last page of the manuscript there is an owner's note indicating that the gradual belonged to Francesco Lunani from Gubbio.

About Kaer

Hello! Most of all I like to design bright three-dimensional logos or characters and delve into each letter of a logo. I started to learn design in 2005 when I was a 3-rd year student and got fixed up in a job as a designer assistant in an advertising agency. I've been a freelancer since 2008. Initially, I was designing logos. Very often I used typical fonts with some changes to create a logo. That was the way I started creating full sets of fonts. Let's bring more color and bright letters to our world together!
