About Laundry Font Family

The “Laundry Fonts” family contains 3 fonts, Lambrettista, Laundrette, and Luncheonette. These are some of Chank’s earliest font creations, and all were inspired by the vintage Lambretta scooter logo. The first font in the family was Lambrettista, which includes all the characteristics of the original Lambretta logo, with lines above and below each letter which automatically line up as you type words. But sometimes the overscore and underscore were too heavy, so Laundrette was created, which is similar but simpler than the base font. Laundrette was then scaled horizontally to create the slimmer Luncheonette. Over the years, each font was modified slightly, independently, so they’re all a bit different from each other now, but they still work nicely together. Not a perfectly structured font family to be sure, but these stylish retrofonts do have a certain charm.
