Lena Schmidt was born 1981 in Bremen. She is a german painter, graphic designer and illustrator mostly known for her huge wood carving paintings. From 2003 to 2011 she studied Fine Arts in Hamburg with professor Matt Mullican. From 2015 to 2019 she studied graphic design with a focus on type design at HAW Hamburg Department Design with professor Jovica Veljović. Having a passion for letterpress and found objects it was just the next step to do a revival of an historic font.The Schneidler Latein is her first published font and her entry into the type design world. She lives and works in Hamburg, Germany.
