Manufraktur

Manufraktur is a Berlin-based type foundry owned and operated by Petra Rüth.With a background in classical graphic design, Petra studied type design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig, Germany. With extensive experience in historical research, Petra blends theoretical rigor with a practical approach in her fine creative work. Through calligraphy practice she explores the world of blackletters, with a focus on Fraktur, Kanzlei and Kurrent scripts. With her debut typeface Roko she combines a nib-based design with a rigid mathematical system, exploring a historic legacy in the latest digital environment.
