About Medieval Initials Font Family

Here is my new project based on Ptolemy's Cosmographia published by Leonhard Holl in 1482. It's an outstanding monument to the typographic art of early printing. The publication glorified the printer and once again confirmed the importance of the city of Ulm as one of the centers of book printing in Germany.

Hall paid special attention to the artistic design of the atlas. Hand-made multi-color painting adds sophistication to the design. A large, easy-to-read antique type font was used to print the text.

Engraved initials are hand-painted. In original initials are hand-painted with stains and smudges all over the book, but it looks awesome. The classic floral ornament is used in the lettering embellishments.

Medieval Initials

About Kaer

Hello! Most of all I like to design bright three-dimensional logos or characters and delve into each letter of a logo. I started to learn design in 2005 when I was a 3-rd year student and got fixed up in a job as a designer assistant in an advertising agency. I've been a freelancer since 2008. Initially, I was designing logos. Very often I used typical fonts with some changes to create a logo. That was the way I started creating full sets of fonts. Let's bring more color and bright letters to our world together!
