Pontif LP™
by LetterPerfectAbout Pontif LP Font Family
Pontif is a typeface based on the inscriptional lettering work of Luca Horfei, the Vatican scribe who designed the major inscriptions for Pope Sixtus V's Baroque-makeover of Rome in the sixteenth century. Garrett Boge modeled the design on a Horfei manuscript and on-site research in Rome in 1996. Pontif is part of the LetterPerfect Baroque Set.

About LetterPerfect
A broad knowledge of letterforms and meticulous craftsmanship are the qualities that define LetterPerfect Fonts. Founded in 1986 at the dawn of the personal computer era, LetterPerfect is one of the longest-standing independent digital foundries. Begun by lettering artist Garrett Boge, LetterPerfect's initial offerings reflected his background in greeting card design at Hallmark cards. This growing collection, under the banner of Vive la Fonts, now consists of 32 contemporary script and display faces. With the aid of collaborator and fellow lettering artist Paul Shaw, LetterPerfect's new font collection, Legacy of Letters, extends the foundry's line to original type designs based on lettering models from important historical periods - ranging from 3rd century inscriptions to early 20th century poster art.
