Raphael Lefeuvre
Raphaël Lefeuvre is a typographic and graphic designer based in Paris. Alongside his professional activities, he also holds academic positions: he currently teaches graphic design and typography at École Duperré, after having directed the MA in Type Design at École Estienne for ten years. Particularly interested in typography in its various media and materialities, he experiments with both digital and manual drawing, lapidary engraving and letterpress printing in his studio, which is well-stocked with wood type from all eras. His commitment to the typographic design community has led him over the past decade to organize the Printemps de la typographie, an annual lecture series bringing together practitioners and theorists in the field, and more recently, to  help organize the annual ATypI Paris 2023 conference.
His approach to type design often stems from observation of details of past or present editorial use, specificities of language, or singular forms and styles, from which he defines his fields of constraint and deploys his terrain of visual speculation.
