As a little kid I used to draw my own comic books. I was a huge fan of the ‘superhero’ genre. The fonts used in these American comics made me aware of typography for the very first time. Now most of my typefaces originate in my holidays. Here I get my inspiration and finally have lots of time to ride the flow. Besides being a self-taught type designer, I’m the co-founder of Stoere Binken Design (link to: www.stoerebinken.nl), a renowned Dutch graphic design studio based in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Most of my early typefaces were designed for product flyers or packaging designs for my clients, selling food supplements, CD’s, vinyl and DJ equipment. I’m happy that there are companies like MyFonts where people can find the typefaces that fit their personal character and how they want to portrait themselves.
