Robbie Smith studied graphic design at Lowestoft College in Suffolk, England. He then went on to study calligraphy and craft lettering, under calligrapher Gaynor Goffe and sign-writer John Gibbs, at Reigate School of Art and Design, Surrey, England.
He began his working life as an apprentice to the letter carver Richard Kindersley, at his lettering and sculpture studio in Kennington, London.
Robbie is now a freelance font designer and letter carver. He offers his fonts through his
Smith Hands foundry.
