Tyler Sticka is a designer, artist, speaker and educator living in the Pacific Northwest and employed at McAfee Design Studio. Apprenticed at the Art Center College of Design while still in high school, the prospects of the web and new media enticed him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of Portland. He has since produced work for clients such as Nike, Providence Health & Services, Synnex and many more. His Flash game Ramps was a featured Download Squad ìtime wasterî and has been enjoyed by half a million unique players on this site alone.
Always enthusiastic to share his ideas and stimulate discussion, Tyler has taught classes in typography, CSS and web design at the Art Institute of Portland, and has presented his thoughts on interaction design and modern art at WebVisions, DevGroup NW and Refresh Portland.
As an illustrator, Tyler has donated art to the Webcomics Hurricane Relief (which raised nearly $30,000 for victims of Katrina) and the autism benefit Bots, where his work was displayed alongside that of Heroes production artist Tim Sale. His cartooning and portraiture work, laser-etched onto household objects, was the subject of the ìCartoon Commoditiesî show at the Tatuit design studio in Portland.
After deadlines are met, Tyler possesses a great affinity for comic books and rock ní roll. His favorite bands are Blur, Pixies and Talking Heads.
