About Varda Semi Serif Font Family

Varda Semi Serif takes its name from the Varda Bridge built by the German engineers as part of the Baghdad Railway (Haydarpaşa Terminal, Istanbul-Baghdad) in 1912.

It was also initially inspired by Otl Aicher's Rotis Semi Serif. In this context, the typeface was designed as an intermediate Semi Serif. The contrasting expansions on the legs, like the piers of the bridge, form the main element of the design.

Its primary design purpose is display uses such as museum and street wayfindings and exhibitions wall graphics.
