Yulia Gonina is a font designer from Russia born in Moscow, currently lives
in St. Petersburg. She began her career as a graphic designer. At some
point, she became interested in fonts and typography, and this interest has
led her to attend annual type design course in 2017.
There, she studied for a year under the guidance of Irina Smirnova. Yulia
completed her graduation project — the revival of Jacques-François Rosart's
18th century fonts — in collaboration with the Schrift magazine and
publishing house. After graduating from the course, Yulia joined the
TypeType team.
