The first typeface I ever created was a mashup atrocity called Comic Papyrus, and it took the font world by storm. I didn't sell a lot of copies of it, but it garnered a lot of attention on social media. So much, in fact, that I actually got a cease and desist letter from the Papyrus estate. I yielded to their demands, changed the font name, and have since added two more fonts to my foundry: Ricochet and Pintazo.
