FF Scribble draws inspiration from hand-drawn layouts of the hot metal and photocomposition eras. The font has an important message: make a sketch of what you want to create before touching the computer. Often what you’ve drawn is better than the computer’s results.
FF Graffio is a series of three typefaces, one of which is a pictogram font. The drawing style of the FF Graffio glyphs is rather nervous-looking. Alessio Leonardi mentions, “I drew this typeface after I went to the cinema to see ‘Natural Born Killers.’ I love cats, but I am allergic to them.”
Scratch was designed by Andrew Smith in 1995. It looks as thought many fine lines were drawn next to and over each other with a felt-tipped pen. Small bits of white peek out among the strokes and give the font its dynamic character. Flexible and sketchy, the forms are based on those of a classic sans serif cursive typeface. Scratch is meant exclusively as a headline or display font.
Designer Dung van Meerbeeck’s series of digitized handwriting are named after the famous artists to whom each belongs. The typefaces in the “FF DuBrush” series are: FF DuChirico, FF DuDuchamp, FF DuGauguin, FF DuTurner, FF DuMathieu, and FF DuMifu.
