The Discovery Panel

You’ll find the main Discovery features neatly hidden in a special rollout panel at the right-hand side of every Family page, where you can access them whenever you need a quick burst of inspiration on-the-fly. To see them, click any one of the 3 new Discovery icons at the lower right-hand corner of the Family pages.

For related “lookalikes”, browse to any Family and click the new “See Also” icon. This opens up the rollout menu and displays a list of items with similar designs. To see actual use-case images of each family, click the “Gallery” icon. For fonts that may look different but are thematically related, click the new “Fontlists” icon. This reveals all Fontlists that contain the current family.

Discover by Grid, Matrix, List or Button

Explore a little further, and you’ll find many more springboards to discovery.

First, there’s an additional “Related” grid at the bottom of each Family page. This grid calculates the visual kinship between fonts using a combination of similarity, theme and style category.

Next, you’ll also find a helpful Style Matrix at the bottom of each Family page showing a compact overview of all available single weights in the family.

You can also make new discoveries by simply reshuffling your lists of search results. The search results page now features a new sorting option that lets you sort your search results by bestseller, name, size, newest or best match.

Play is always an excellent source of inspiration. To keep you close to the playground, we added new “hover state” versions of the “playful” feature buttons, allowing you to jump to the “Tryout”, “Add to Favorites” and “Add to Fonlist” features from more vantage points in the interface. Just hover on any item in the Families list, or find them in the Family page “Languages” module.

Become a Source of Inspiration

Best of all, you can now inspire others by sharing your own personal discoveries in the new Gallery feature. Here you see the families beautifully showcased as real use-case images, and you can also contribute your own examples for others to enjoy.

To submit your Gallery image suggestions, just sign in to your account, and select the family of your choice. Click the “Gallery” button in the lower right-hand corner of the Family page, and then click the “upload” field at the top of the panel.
